Bio

Founder, Ross Holbrook started ACRE CRE in 2017.

Upon finishing his freshman year at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO, Ross pursued an internship at a commercial real estate brokerage in Denver, CO.  He worked for Jim Sims, an Office Tenant Rep Broker for the summer at Cushman & Wakefield and was exposed to an industry that intrigued him.  He also joined the CU Real Estate Club and was eventually voted the president of that group.

During his senior year, he was chosen as part of the team that would represent the University of Colorado’s Real Estate Program in the University of Southern California/Wells Fargo National Undergraduate Real Estate Case Competition.  Throughout his academic career at CU, Ross held internships at numerous other real estate companies in the Denver area, including, CB Richard Ellis, Marcus & Millichap and Land Title Guarantee Company.

Ross realized he had a strong interest in the development side of the business and received a position as an analyst for Vail Resorts Development Company in 2006 where he oversaw the financials of numerous resort real estate development projects.  In 2008, Ross was promoted to project manager where he oversaw the development of One Ski Hill Place in Breckenridge, CO, a $130M mixed use condo project.  He also managed the entitlement process for a 25 acre, 200-unit mixed use and transit oriented development master plan in Breckenridge, CO.

In 2012, Ross joined Crestone Capital Advisors, a multi family office for ~60 families and over $1B of assets under management, as the Director of Real Estate & Special Projects.  During his time there he oversaw all of the direct real estate investments, including a $70M portfolio of value add commercial real estate investments in the Denver/Boulder market, the ground-up development of an $80M mixed-use development in Downtown Boulder, CO and various other joint ventures and special projects.

In addition to Ross’ work, he is a current board member of the Flatirons Habitat for Humanity, a member of the Urban Land Institute, is a LEED Accredited Professional and has served on various boards related to condominium associations and metropolitan districts.  Ross has grown up mostly in Colorado and enjoys the beautiful outdoors that the state has to offer, including racing mountain bikes professionally, skiing the backcountry, and camping all over Colorado.
